About Roulette
The first form of roulette was devised in 17th centuryFrance, by the mathematician Blaise Pascal, who was supposedly inspired by hisfascination with perpetual motion devices. In 1842, fellow Frenchmen Françoisand Louis Blanc added the "0" to the roulette wheel in order toincrease house odds. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and00. Each player isassigned different color of chip, allowing the dealer differentiate bets andmatch them to the right players.chips are worthless at the other tablesin the same casino, so do not bother trying to stack them under your blackjackchips or anything foolish like that. There is a green pocket numbered 0. The bet itself is returned, so in total it is multiplied by 36. The basic rules of Roulette are simple. Bets are placed on these numbersby putting chips on the appropriate areas. The bet wins if the number resulting from the spin matches thenumbers you bet upon. The odds vary depending upon the specific type bet. The main goal of the game is to bet on the slot where theroulette ball falls. European wheels have only the 0 greensection. Theaddition of the 00 section greatly increases the odds in favor of the house. Roulette is a banking game: all bets are placed against the house. If you play black-red, odd/evenor high-low, you must place the table minimum for each & every bet. All players placetheir bets. The dealer spins a small ball in the opposite direction of thespinning wheel. There are a number of series in roulette that have special names attached tothem. Straight-Up Bets - Pay 35 to 1.
