Roulette Game
The first form of roulette was devised in 17th centuryFrance, by the mathematician Blaise Pascal, who was supposedly inspired by hisfascination with perpetual motion devices. (In some forms of early American roulette the double-zero wasreplaced by an American Eagle.) The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and00. Roulette is a French word meaning"small wheel". The main pockets arenumbered from 1 to 36 and alternate between red and black, with number 1 beingred. The table layout consists of areaswhich represent a number or series of numbers. The bet wins if the number resulting from the spin matches thenumbers you bet upon. The odds vary depending upon the specific type bet. Roulette is a glamorous and exciting gamethat's easy to play. The main goal of the game is to bet on the slot where theroulette ball falls. The wheel is divided into 38 (American) or 37 (European) sections, eachof which has walls to hold a small ball where it lands after the wheel is spun.The sections are numbered from 1 to 36, (half red and half black, half odd andhalf even) plus a green section marked 0. American wheels have an additional green section marked 00. Numbers 1-18 are considered the lows; numbers 19-36 are thehighs. Oneof the thing you should know is how the table minimum works. If you play black-red, odd/evenor high-low, you must place the table minimum for each & every bet. After all bets are placed, the croupierspins the wheel in one direction and tosses the small ball in the oppositedirection. Voisins ("Neighbors") - This is a name for the numbers which liebetween 22 and 25 on the wheel including 22 and 25 themselves. The series is22,18,29,7,28,12,35,3,26,0,32,15,19,4,21,2,25 (on a single zero wheel) Tiers("The third") - This is the name for the numbers which lie on theopposite side of the wheel between 27 and 33 including 27 and 33 themselves.The series is 27,13,26,11,30,8,23,20,5,24,16,33 (on a single zero wheel)Orphelins ("Orphans") - These numbers make up the two slices of thewheel outside the Tiers and Voisins. They contain a total of eight numbers, theOrphans comprising 17,34,6 and the Orphelins being 1,20,14,31,9. Straight-Up Bets - Pay 35 to 1. Place a chip on any single number. Quad (Corner)Bets - Pay 8 to 1. Place a chip between any four number groupings, and you getall four numbers in that group. Quint Bet - Pays 6 to 1. The only possiblefive number grouping in the Roulette layout is 0-00-1-2-3.
