Roulette Game
In the early 1800s, roulette was brought into the U.S.where, to further increase house odds, a second zero, "00", wasintroduced. (In some forms of early American roulette the double-zero wasreplaced by an American Eagle.) In the 1800s, roulette spread all over bothEurope and the U.S., becoming one of the most famous and most popular casinogames. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and00. The European roulette wheel is divided into 37 slots, numbered 1 through 36,plus 0. A croupier turns a round roulette wheel which has 37 or38 separately numbered pockets in which a ball must land. The main pockets arenumbered from 1 to 36 and alternate between red and black, with number 1 beingred. If a player bets on a single number and wins, the payout is35 to 1. A wheel having a corresponding set ofnumbers is spun. Roulette is a glamorous and exciting gamethat's easy to play. The game uses a special wheel, a betting layout, andchips. European wheels have only the 0 greensection. Theaddition of the 00 section greatly increases the odds in favor of the house. If Nevada rules are in force, you lose the entire even-moneybet on 0 or 00. Roulette is a banking game: all bets are placed against the house. The dealer spins a small ball in the opposite direction of thespinning wheel. Players make bets by placingchips in various locations on the table. After all bets are placed, the croupierspins the wheel in one direction and tosses the small ball in the oppositedirection.
