American wheels have an additional green section marked 00. When Atlantic City rules are used in Roulette: For any even-money bets,if the ball lands on 0 or 00, half of the amount of any even-money bet isreturned to you. If Nevada rules are in force, you lose the entire even-moneybet on 0 or 00. If you play black-red, odd/evenor high-low, you must place the table minimum for each & every bet. Players make bets by placingchips in various locations on the table. After all bets are placed, the croupierspins the wheel in one direction and tosses the small ball in the oppositedirection. There are a number of series in roulette that have special names attached tothem. Tiers("The third") - This is the name for the numbers which lie on theopposite side of the wheel between 27 and 33 including 27 and 33 themselves.The series is 27,13,26,11,30,8,23,20,5,24,16,33 (on a single zero wheel)Orphelins ("Orphans") - These numbers make up the two slices of thewheel outside the Tiers and Voisins. They contain a total of eight numbers, theOrphans comprising 17,34,6 and the Orphelins being 1,20,14,31,9. SplitBets - Pay 17 to 1. Place a chip in between any two adjacent numbers. Street (Trio or Three Number) Bets - Pay 11 to 1.Place a chip on the horizontal line across the top of the layout on any of thetwelve columns of three numbers. Column Bets- Pay 2 to 1. Place a chip in a box at the end of one of three columns.
